Jean-Marie Gilliot -Short bio

Short Bio

I am associate professor in Computer Science at Télécom Bretagne, one of the Institut Mines-Télécom engineering schools, since 2002.

Before joining Institut Mines-Télécom, I was associate professor at ESIEE, another French engineering school. And even before, I did my PhD at CEA, the French nuclear research agency.

My research interests include mobile learning, open learning environments and adaptive distributed software systems (see my publications). My research team is currently 3S, for Smart, Social & Semantic.

  • Until 2012, I led project-based learning activities at Télécom Bretagne; in particular, he developed blended learning courses for ten years.
  • With 3 others colleagues, I proposed the first French-speaking MOOC, which took place in 2012, about learning with the Internet.
  • I am currently the project leader for MOOC development at Institut Mines-Télécom.
  • I sit in operational committees of the French MOOC platform (“France Université Numérique”).
  • I am also joint scientific chair of the CNRS 2014 summer school on MOOCs and chair at the 2014 European MOOC Conference (eMOOCs).
